1:1 Learning Update
Please check out the 1:1 Learning blog with updated information as well as questions and answers that have been submitted as a result of parents that have completed the 1:1 Learning iOrientation.
Device Management Update
The technology staff continues to work on configuring and assigning close to 1000 school-owned iPads for students in grades 5-12. Students using school owned devices will receive their devices within the first two weeks of school. Students using personally owned devices (BYOD) will need to enroll their device into AirWatch, the mobile device management service that Mendon-Upton uses.
Students in grades 6-12 will be receiving school-owned devices by September 11, with many devices being distributed during the first few days of school. Students in grade 5 will receive their school-owned iPad by September 30. Prior to students being issued an iPad, it is important that a parent goes to the iOrientation website and completes the Acknolwedgement Form found there. Please see information regarding iOrientation below.
Students using BYOD devices will receive an email with instructions on how to enroll their device into AirWatch. The process is simple and straightforward; just follow the prompts and provide the information requested. As a reminder, student usernames are in the format of Last Name, First Initial, Year of Graduation (e.g. amitranoa16). The passwords are the passwords that students use to access email, the wi-fi, and computers on the district network.
A sample of the email the student will receive is below. If students have any difficulty with this process, please have them visit the Help Desk at Nipmuc or Miscoe during the week of September 8-11.
To provide some information about 1:1 Learning in the district, we have created an online “iOrientation”. The iOrientation can be accessed at: http://mursd-iorientation.weebly.com/
Please view the iOrientation and submit the “Information and Acknowledgement Form” found on the site as soon as possible. If you experience any technical difficulties with the iOrientation, please do not hesitate to email me.
If you are a parent of a child in grades 6-12, and feel you are already familiar with the program, the available options, expectations, and other information, this is your page! Peruse the below information at your own pace, and then click the button at the bottom of the page to take you to the Acknowledgement Form.
